As part of its strategy for growth and discovery of football talents, Hoffnung International Football Academy (HIFA) was able to organize a 4 days scouting tournament in Lagos – Nigeria. The program was sponsored by HIFA and organized by Temson Sports Management (TSM). The Grassroot Football Administrators Association (GFAA) also contributed to the success of the event by ensuring that all the available teams within Lagos were invited. In total, more than 45 teams registered and participated in the exercise. Although, it’s the first of its kind, the teams, coaches and owners of the invited academies were very satisfied with the concept and organization. The first two days (Thursday, August 16th 2017 and Friday, August 17th 2017) of the event which was held at the Main bowl of the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos State were used as a pre-selection exercise. Experienced technical crew which comprised of CAF licensed coaches were hired for the pre selection program. From the 45 teams presented, they were able to select a total 120 players which were further divided into the final 8 teams which were presented to the scout during the main program that took place at Legacy Astro-turf Pitch Lagos State, on Monday, August 21st 2017 and Tuesday, August 22nd 2017. The professional scout who attended from England was mostly impressed by the organization and most especially the caliber and number of talents that were presented during the two days scouting program. He promised introducing and bringing along other top scouts and agents from Europe and other parts of the world so that most of the talents don’t go through life without being fulfilled.
